Endowment


Micah and Kandi Hall Endowment
The Micah and Kandi Hall Endowment is solely for the purpose of enabling Chesapeake youth by providing financial awards for students who reside in the Camelot and South Norfolk communities of Chesapeake, Virginia. The amount and number of awards will be determined in accordance with the guidelines established and in use by The New Chesapeake Men for Progress Education Foundation, Inc. The funds are to be administered in accordance with the following conditions:
1. Awards shall be made in the name of the Micah and Kandi Hall Endowment.
2. Recipient(s) shall be selected by The New Chesapeake Men for Progress Education Foundation, Inc. Scholarship committee.
3. Recipients must live in the Camelot and South Norfolk neighborhoods of Chesapeake, Virginia.
4. Applicants must demonstrate that funds will be used to advance technological knowledge, skills, or abilities. Examples of such advancements are, but not limited to: training and education; higher education; software purchases to advance technological skillsets; materials for participation in technological competition; fees and expenses associated with participation in conferences, fairs or other activities; unique opportunities for technology related engagement.
5. Awards are renewal as long as the student (s) show development in the area of technology.
The fund is held and administered by The New Chesapeake Men for Progress Education Foundation, Inc. and shall be used in a manner consistent with the Foundation’s current financial policies. Funds will be awarded annually according with the established criteria and established financial policies.
Donors may contribute additional gifts to the endowment fund at any time. Such gifts will be used to increase the number and/ or amount awarded. Contributions should be made payable to The New Chesapeake Men for Progress Education Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 1262, Chesapeake, Virginia 23327 with the Micah and Kandi Hall Endowment indicated in the respective gift correspondence. Contributions to the fund can also be made on the Foundation’s website donate button: thncmpeduf.org using PayPal. All contributions are non-refundable and tax deductible.
In 2025, funds from the endowment were used to purchase six microwave ovens for Oscar Smith High school students, and provided a matching $250.00 mini grant to Rena B. Wright Primary School for school supplies in partnership with New Mount Olive A.M.E. Church, 1953 Campostella Road, Chesapeake, VA 23324, who also provided $250.00.
