The Founding Vision
Even before the Foundation was formally established, the parent organization, the New Chesapeake Men for Progress, was active.
From 2006 to 2008, they sponsored three Black Male Development Conferences and Parent Education Summits at Indian River High School. These events served 300 youth and 75 parents.
The first Black Male Achievement and Scholarship Breakfast started in 2009 as a direct result of the success of these conferences. This event is now in its 17th year as of 2025
